Cloud Talk…
The week before last I went down to fancy London to the opening of my good friend Mr Jago’s solo exhibition at Stolen Space (Brick Lane).
Bearing in mind I’ve seen Duncan’s work develop over the last 15 years (or so!) I have to say that some of this stuff was truly mindblowing. The transition to ‘painter’ is settled and the absence of outlines allow fluidity to reign supreme in these works on canvas, silk and paper.
BLEEPIN marvellous… Colour schemes ruling as usual, and the camobots, some friendly looking, some pretty mean looking coming on strong in these works. It was a great evening with admirers and friends (who let’s be honest, are all admirers on Duncan’s work too!) travelling from far and wide.
Quite a few dot’s appeared that evening but the remaining pieces are online at Stolenspace - if only I was richer
- well worth a browse.
Also this weekend this short little interview with the man himself and friend and collaborator Will Barras surfaced at on-point. Filmed when they boys were painting in Belgium last year, it’s a cool little piece, with their class sense of humour truly shining at moments :)
raaaa!!
