Close

Everything is not as it seems…

I love this work by photographer Jason Tozer featured in his current exhibition ‘Close’.

Instead of intergalactic satellite photos of distant planets his picture are actually macro shots of bubbles made by washing up liquid!! I think they’re superb.

The show is on until Feb 10th 2009 at The Print Space, 74 Kingsland Road, London E28DL. Prints are available too on the microsite for the show – www.blanka.co.uk/close/

Poster Boy

Saturdays Guardian had a feature about a New York based artist who’s tool was a razor blade and his canvas the cities advertising posters and billboards. I’d not heard of him before that but liked is adbusting style…

This short piece on YouTube introduces him and his work.

I like it!!

Ad busted…

I really like this. Spotted in Berlin, snapped and posted online at just.ekosystem.

We all know that celebs get the airbrush treatment courtesy of the industries favourite – Photoshop, well the FTW-Crew took the time to remind the commuters of Berlin… Brilliant!

Photoshop toolbars and controls are pasted onto the billboard to illustrate the point – I love the attention to detail (and sarcasm) in the layer names…

Good work Adbusters!! ;)

Where have all the people gone?

Oxford Street - IanVisits

I spotted this on Pete Ashton’s blog which has countless great posts, but I was particularly struck by these images.

When is Central London completely empty? I’d have said never, but seemingly this is not the case.

‘…a morning spent cycling around town taking photos’ on Christmas Day enabled these shots taken from Ian Mansfield’s Flickr Ianvisits. There are 68 shots and it really is well worth a browse.

Eerie indeed, but great…
