Greetings of the Season.
Well, I’ve been fairly sparse with posts of late, for a variety of reasons, but I thought it’d be good to at least wish everyone who reads my blog a Very Happy Christmas and of course a Great New Year 2010.

When I was younger one my friends who had a finely tuned and often surreal sense of humour would often baffle people by answering almost any question with the answer… Twenty Ten… :) So, as a result, in my mind and the mind of many of his other old friends, the coming year will be and was always going to be his.
Mr Pepper, I salute you !! ;)

If you don’t like city life, why choose city living?
Here’s a great little film made by ‘Project X‘ about some of the issues faced by landlords/licensees in Digbeth and Moseley regarding complaints about noise in their venues…
I remember when the complaint against the Spotted Dog was made someone (who I don’t remember off hand) made the point that it was like buying a canalside apartment and then complaining about the water being a hazard…
Choose city living cause you like City life?! (purleease!!) –
and as Mr T might say… shuddupfool!

The Crisis of Credit
If you listen to the news about the ‘global economic downturn’ – lets face it there is plenty of news about it! – it raises many questions about how it all began…
This animation by Jonathan Jarvis, attempts the short and simple story of the current ‘crisis‘. Using simple universal graphic symbols he’s created a really informative and good looking short film that gives an overview on what started the financial wobble in the US at least.
The Crisis of Credit Visualized from Jonathan Jarvis on Vimeo.
Definitely worth a look.

sh, sh, shake it like a polaroid picture…
This is rather cool. Poladroid. Yep, that’s right, like Artoo and ‘3PO…
With Polaroid’s imminent demise as it’s production is stopped, this neat little desktop application allows you turn your JPGS into Polaroid style pics, with borders and strange colours as well. These ‘droids make the sounds, and their pics even take a little while to surface just like the real thing. A very nice touch I thought was the fact you can only do 10 images in any one go – like a polaroid film! Cool. The only downer is that is mac only at the moment… but the window’s version is on it’s way… apparently…

You shouldn’t let Poets lie to you…
Björk’s right y’know.
Here she explains how your CRT TV works… kinda…
She really is ace. I think more informative TV show’s could do with Björk as presenter.

Stamps for Amnesty
If like me you get a fair bit of mail (of the non electronic variety) then this address is worth noting.
John Smith, Amnesty International
Section Charitable Trust, The Human Rights Action Centre, 17-25 New Inn Yard, London EC2A 3EA.
I tend to rip used stamps off mail I get, and until recently didn’t know who to send these on to, but was pleased to see that Amnesty International can turn these used stamps into cash to go toward their very valid cause.
Also, it gives me an opportunity to post this great image of the Amnesty international logo being recreated on a massive scale by candles in Belgium earlier this year.
Lovely. Thousands of candle pixels.
